Hello Habiteers!
Happy November!
We hope everyone had an awesome Halloween weekend. We would like to thank all the volunteers who helped us out for Trick-or-Treat for Change this past weekend. These are the following upcoming events and volunteer opportunities:
General Meeting this week!
Date: 11/03
Time: 7pm
Location: 319 Gregory Hall
Bergner's Community Day Sale
The Bergner’s Department store is hosting a Community Day Sale on November 14. Prior to this, we will be going to Bergner's to sell coupon booklets for $5 which customers can use on the day of the event. Habitat keeps every dollar from sales and if we sell enough, we will get an added bonus which makes this is a great fundraiser for our organization. Inside the booklet, there are 8 great coupons including one for $10 off a purchase of $10 or more. If you would like to sell to any friends, relatives, or professors, see Dave after any general meeting or email him at schnitz1@illinois.edu. These coupons are valid at any Bergner’s, Boston, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s, or Younkers Department stores which makes it ideal for a parent or relative.
Potted Meat Sketch Comedy Benefit Show
Potted Meat, a sketch comedy group, will be performing a show to benefit Habitat for Humanity on Friday November 13th at 8:00pm. Come join us for an entertaining night of laughter. Tickets for the show will be available at the Habitat office beginning November 9th for $3 in advance. They will be $5 at the door, so make sure to buy early. Doors will open at 7:45. Bring your friends!
We also need volunteers to sell tickets on the Quad November 10, 11, and 13. Sign ups for shifts of 50 minutes are available on the website. We will also be chalking so check back later for this information. Please email Dave at schnitz1@illinois.edu with any questions.
